This was one of the first hotels established on the island and the only 5 star hotel on Ambergis Caye.  Located approximately 20 minutes south of the town by foot, it is sufficiently far enough away from the town to feel like you are on your own stretch of beach, yet close enough to access all of the towns restaurants and bars.

THE DETAIL

The hotels boasts two outdoor swimming pools, the first of which overlooks the beach and ocean and the second is an infinity pool located towards the rear of the property.  Victoria House has two restaurants, one by the bar and pool which is a relaxed affair and a second, more formal one in the centre of the hotel.  The formal restaurant has excellent food and is one of only three on the island that is worth eating in even if you are not staying here.
 
The hotel is spread over a large area containing 11 different room types ranging from state rooms to casitas to individual villas which can sleep up to 6 people.  The rooms all have the amenities you would expect of a five star property with en-suite facilities, mini bar, fans and air conditioning.  The rooms themselves have high ceilings, large bathrooms and are simply decorated, with each having a balcony, some of which overlooking the ocean.
