Blancaneaux Lodge

Mountain Pine Ridge

Francis Ford Coppola’s lodge in Mountain Pine ridge was discovered by the man himself. FFC was on a trip out to the region in search of a quiet retreat in the wilderness which would be ideal for writing. The abandoned wooden lodge which he found is set back on the rocky slopes of the Privaisson River. Winding paths lead you down to numerous waterfalls and pools which are ideal for swimming.

THE DETAIL

This original lodge now forms the centre of the main house, and is decorated with beautiful antiques, rugs and black and white photos of Mayan archaeologists and ruins they found over the last century.

The 15 thatched cabanas are all set individually with private decks, fans, i-pod docking stations, and of course the shell phone that is a defining feature of the Coppola lodges!  All have teak floors, antique carved furniture, with Mexican tiled bathrooms. They are all similar in decorative style but there are various types, some being larger than others.

The villa is brand new, set in the far corner of the property and offers unparalleled luxury and privacy for the region with every service you can imagine; your own private butler who is also a trained chef, a private pool with deck, steam room, and fireplaces in both the lounge and the bathroom.

There is a large pool and hot hydro tub – which makes the lodge ideal for those who would rather dedicate some time to outdoor activities and reserve some for relaxing and winding down. There are stables and horse riding trips to various locations in the property. The spa offers relaxing treatments with a view – the treatment room has stunning views down to the river.
