CHILE HONEYMOON

A honeymoon in Chile can cover an array of landscapes including alien desert canyons, fertile wine valleys and even ski resorts. Running almost the full length of South America, its Lake District and national parks provide stunning, sweeping, simply unforgettable views.
Whilst seeing everything Chile has to offer can involve travelling a fair distance, it’s worth it. The climate ranges from the Atacama Desert in the north through lake regions to the forests and fjords of Patagonia in the south, whilst Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean is the stuff of legends with hundreds of enormous stone statues mysteriously covering its slopes. Honeymoon in Chile to discover some of the most remote parts of the world.

BEST PLACES FOR A IN HONEYMOON CHILE

Chile boasts some of the most breath-taking scenery in South America as well some of the best hotels in South America, making this an excellent honeymoon destination.

Here you will experience climactic extremes, from high Atacama desert to majestic peaks and the fertile Lake District and you can combine Chile with a mini-trip to Easter Island, or with parts of Argentina.

Simply relax in incredible lodges where everything is completely bespoke and private and where a wide range of activities from trekking to kayaking and swimming in the lush salt flats are available.

Atacama

The Atacama Desert is the driest place on earth, offering amazing scenery, numerous activities, and year round good weather.  The best base for exploring the Atacama region is the town of San Pedro, made almost entirely of adobe brick – a mix of local mud and straw. The archaeological museum holds an extraordinary collection of artefacts, whilst its streets are lined with indigenous handicraft markets and its outskirts contain ancient ruins and thermal springs.

Chilean wine valleys

Mountain peaks reaching for the clear blue skies, fertile valleys with rivers winding through, spacious terrain and green rolling hills heading towards the ocean – these are the wine valleys of Chile. It is the perfect setting to let you sample and taste superb wine; enjoy marvellous food and stay overnight at a boutique vineyard.

Easter Island

Situated in eastern Polynesia some 3,700 km (5hr flight) from mainland Chile it was discovered in 1771 on Easter Sunday by Spanish conquistadors on their way to the Indies. Easter Island is a World heritage Site, but also the most isolated place on the planet. It has been called an ‘open air museum’ on account of the Moai, or stone statues, of which there are over 600 that can be found on the island, with 300 Moais on one volcano!
