From the more serious birder to the local enthusiast to someone that knows nothing about them, South and Central America has such a colourful range of birds that it is hard not be impressed. The sheer brightness of reds, yellows and blues of a scarlet macaw or the variants of greens, purple and oranges of a hummingbird means your head will be turned and your camera clicked.
 
For the larger mammals the continent is unique; Jaguar, tapir and giant anteater to name but a few and although difficult to see the areas that are home to them offer a whole lot more.
