El Pilar was the first hotel in the valley of the Río de las Vueltas and is surrounded by a native lenga tree forest. It is a replica of one of the large Patagonian country houses which sheltered the pioneers who came to colonise Patagonia from all over the world.

Located 15 km from El Chaltén, the El Pilar inn is an excellent starting point for any walks you may do in the area. There are 10 very comfortable roomsavailable with private bathroom and mountain views and a cosy country lounge where you can relax by the fireplace. The chef offers an extensive menu with his own recipe.
