WHERE TO GO IN Panama

Bocas del Toro

The Bocas del Toro Archipelago lies off the north western coast of Panama, near the border with Costa Rica. It is made up of six islands and almost 200 tiny uninhabited islets many of which are covered in dense jungle with pristine, white sand beaches straight out of a classic Caribbean fantasy.

Panama City

Founded in 1519 Panama City is the oldest Spanish settlement on the mainland of the Americas. It is also without doubt the most exciting and cosmopolitan capital city on the isthmus. The soaring glass skyscrapers are evidence of the vibrancy of the economy – there is a seemingly endless supply of investment from abroad. And the city has an infectious energy which is driven by the optimism and rich cultural brew of the Panamanian people. Long overshadowed by the Panama Canal, this city has now been given new life and is forging a new reputation for itself as a destination in its own right.
