If you are an art lover, this is the perfect place to stay. The Museum d’art is just one block away, and El Convento boasts the largest collection of art of any hotel in Leon. Opened nine years ago, the hotel is on the site of the first convent in the city founded in 1639.

THE DETAIL

There are 31 rooms, which are all identical except for the views, some being of the courtyard, and others on to the street. They all have two queen beds, TV, air-con, fans and wireless internet. Whilst simply decorated, the rooms are spacious and have everything you need. In addition, there is one suite which is ideal for honeymooners. It is a much larger room, with a brass king bed and a lounge.

It is built in the traditional Spanish colonial style – with the lounge, restaurant and all the guest rooms surrounding a beautifully kept central courtyard with bougainvillea’s. There is a restaurant serving international cuisine.
