Hacienda Pimán dates back to the late 17th century and has been owned by the Zaldumbide family ever since. In a labour of love lasting three years the owners restored the historic building, with its antiques, paintings, library, immense stone walls, old chapel and beautiful gardens, and embellished it with tasteful, modern elements. Today the Hacienda, set in a dry valley and surrounded by mountains, is the perfect hotel for guests who value the comfortable accommodation, peaceful surroundings and delicious home-cooking, with the option of exploring the rich natural and cultural heritage of the region.

Hacienda Piman is an historic retreat located in the northern Ecuadorian Andes. A place redolent with peace; where you’ll enjoy comfortable rooms and social areas amid modern and traditional architecture and delicious home-cooking. Tucked into an oasis-like valley between the folds of dry mountains, Hacienda Piman offers you the perfect base for both disconnecting from your daily life and exploring the rich cultural and natural heritage of one of Ecuador’s most captivating regions.

The Hacienda’s rooms are a marriage of the traditional and the modern, counting seventeen in total; seven are in the old manor house and the remaining ten are distributed in large, new chalets a short walk from the main hacienda. Modern comforts of hot water, heating and telephones are combined with a traditional warm, homely ambience and friendly, attentive service.

The restaurant and lounge areas are housed within an impressive modern, exposed brick structure that contrasts sharply with the original buildings. There is also an outside eating area, open-air swimming pool and extensive gardens with beautiful old trees and colourful, exotic plants.
