The Coral Islands of Rosario (Colombia’s biggest reef system) is a protected Natural National Park off the south-west coast of Cartagena. The hotel has large grounds a two small private beaches and an excellent restaurant serving lovely seafood
The 17 rooms are made up of 4 suites, 8 superior bedrooms and 5 junior suites, all of which are simple with en-suite facilities and are close to the ocean with easy access to the hotel’s two small private beaches; they also have outdoor living rooms with hammocks.
Exploring offshore is made easy with the organisation of the hotels PADI dive centre and ecological tours by foot, bike and canoe and there is an outdoor massage area which is worth indulging in.
During the day, the hotel does get frequented by day trippers from the mainland, so we recommend avoiding the hotel on the weekends, when visitor numbers increase dramatically. In the evenings, the onshore breeze also picks up, though this is cooling and keeps the mosquitos at bay.
