This boutique, Philippe Starck designed hotel is a gem.  The rooftop pool is one of the best places to have your evening drinks and watch the sun set on Rio, whilst the restaurant is probably the best in the city. The rooms are smaller than you would expect, but the balconies overlooking Ipanema beach are worth it.

The décor of the hotel is elegant, understated and fabulous with a mix of period furniture mixed with cool contemporary style. The first evidence of this is when you enter into to the lobby and see a huge part of an Amazonian tree trunk which forms the hotel reception desk.
 
The Fasano offers the most luxurious option while visiting Rio combing the sophistication of Ipanema with the modernity and efficiency in design and service.
