Venezuela Beaches

Venezuela’s coastline borders the Caribbean Sea and as you would expect it has a superb run of beaches.  Distances are vast here and getting to and from some of them can be a challenge, but the pick of the bunch is the archipelago of Los Roques.  Located a 20 minute flight from Caracas, Los Roques is a hidden gem with pristine white sand beaches, brilliant diving and few tourists.
The Los Roques archipelago is a huge national park and as such accommodation is confined to the small island of Gran Roque.  The posadas here are all fairly simple, so don’t expect private plunge pools and silver service, but expect crystal clear Caribbean waters, a colourful reef and a laid back island vibe.
Los Roques is amongst the very best of the Caribbean islands, situated 160 km north of the central coast of Venezuela; it is made up of a chain of 40 coral islands, along with hundreds of smaller islets, sandbanks and flat sandy cays.

One of the best ways to see this area is by spending a few days on Gran Roque and a few days on a sail boat.  By overnighting on the boat you can cover a larger are and explore the lesser visited corners of the archipelago.
  • Incredible, unspoilt reefs to snorkel and explore
  • Pristine, white sands and glorious Caribbean waters
  • Accessing the remote corners by sailboat
  • Simple posadas with an individual charm
