Volcanoes and Beaches

12 nights

Priced from £2580 per person

A note about pricing

This itinerary covers everywhere in Nicaragua except for the very remote region of the Rio San Juan and includes some of the best hotels available in each region.

As a guideline, the itinerary outlined below would cost approximately £2,580 per person based on two people travelling and includes all activities on a private basis, private transfers, accommodation and taxes and meals where mentioned.

Please note that the itinerary does not include any international flights

Day 1 Fly to Managua.  Met on arrival and transferred to Leon and the El Convento Hotel for 3 nights in a junior suite on a b&b basis.

Day 2 A free day for personal exploration.  Leon is charming and relaxing town with a superb main plaza and various local markets.
Day 3 Met for your half day excursion to Cerro Negro.  You begin with a walk to the top of this still active volcano.  Once at the top the views are superb.  The way down is much quicker, as you will snowboard down the soft volcanic lava on the other side!!
Day 4 Met and transferred to Granada for 3 nights in Hotel Plaza Colon for 3 nights in a deluxe room with a balcony on a b&b basis.

Day 5-6 2 days free for personal exploration. Granada is the oldest colonial city on the continent and has a variety of attractions, we would recommend: a half day guided city tour, boat trip on Lake Nicaragua, jeep trip to visit Mombacho Volcano and Masaya market.
Day 7 Met and transferred (1hr) to Rivas for the ferry (1hr) to Ometepe island.  Met on arrival and transferred to the Hotel Villa Paraiso for 2 nights in a suite.

Day 8 The day is free for personal exploration.  On this unique and lush island you can arrange an island tour, trek around or up either of the volcanoes, explore Charco Verde lagoon, discover pre-Columbian petroglyphs, mountain bike or horse ride.
Day 9 Met and transferred to the port for your return ferry to Rivas.  Met on arrival and transferred to San Juan del Sur and Punta Teonoste for 4 nights.

Day 10-12 3 days free for personal exploration and relaxation.
