Tropic Star Lodge: The DetailThe cabins and rooms are spacious and air-conditioned. Each room has twin beds and private bath/dressing room areas. A king-size bed can be requested. The cabins have surrounding porches with chairs with a beautiful view of Pinas Bay The original owner's home is known as El Palacio, or the Palace. It is reached by cable car, or for those looking for exercise, there are 122 steps up the mountainside! The Palace has three bedrooms with private baths, and can sleep six. It has a sunken living room and outside terrace, both with a beautiful panoramic view of the Bay and surrounding mountains. The Lodge has a fresh water swimming pool and bar. A jungle trail has been cut across to La Playa Blanca, where you can swim and sunbathe on the beautiful white sand beach. This trail is over a small mountain and takes thirty to forty minutes to hike there. Kayaks are also available. Each afternoon when the boats return to the Lodge, "fish stories" are swapped while guests relax in the fresh water swimming pool, or drink pina coladas and eat fish fingers or sushimi on the veranda overlooking the bay, or in the air-conditioned bar. Activities The phenomenal fishing is not the only thing they have. There are also kayaks to enjoy the coast or go up the Pinas River. A hike or boat ride brings the perfect solitude of their beautiful white beach with its pristine turquoise waters and rich coral banks ideal for snorkelling. There are jungle trails to be hiked up the mountainside and at the very top, the view is spectacular! A 3 hour hike from the lodge will take you to a breath taking waterfall where you can swim in the midst of a tropic paradise. Or, maybe just hang out and relax with a massage. A jungle river trip to bargain with the "indigenous" Indian tribes is a fascinating experience, which can also be arranged. However, this trip can only be made during certain tides. Special arrangements can be made to visit a nearby Indian village where you can trade for hand woven baskets, wood and tagua carvings, beads and other Indian crafts. Whale watching has become popular and July to September is the peak season for their migration trek, with encounters increasing every season. You may also likePanama City
