Tranquilo Bay: The Detail

The 6 cabins are set amongst lovely gardens high on the hill overlooking the Caribbean – so you have a great view from your deck. They are extremely comfortable with plenty of room, air-con, fans, queen beds, a large bathroom, and a deck.

The close proximity to the twin islands of the Cayos Zapatilla’s is a huge draw as the lodge will take you over (15 min) and leave you for the day with a kayak and a packed lunch in a cooler - heaven. They are part of the marine park and are picture postcard pretty with fine ivory white sands, clear turquoise water and covered in coconut palms. They are also where the hawksbill turtles come to nest.

The reef is very colourful and fish life is abundant. Other activities include fishing, trips to visit the Indian villages, and nature walks on the trails within the 60 hectare property in the jungle to see sloths, monkeys and red poisonous strawberry frogs. The atmosphere created by the Texan owners is very welcoming and the food served in the restaurant is good quality.
