ECLYPSE DEL MAR

Bocas del Toro

Eclypse Del Mar: Our View

Eclypse del Mar has tried to copy what Punta Caracol has done – creating individual cabanas over the water and in our opinion it has dropped a little short.  Do not let this first line put you off as it is still a beautiful place to stay and a great alternative to the more expensive Punta Caracol.

Eclypse Del Mar: The Detail

They have 8 rooms (2 of which are not stand alone bungalows over the water) – 4 standard bungalows and two suites. The 4 standard bungalows have an indoor sitting area and a separate bedroom (this is where they have fallen short as the bedroom itself is very small), en-suite facilities and a lovely outside deck with steps leading into the water.  The two suites are superb and are much larger than the standard rooms in every way and are certainly worth the additional cost.

The service, staff and food are first class and nothing is too much trouble for them, taking care of every need you may have.  The menu in the restaurant is also superb and healthy though they can arrange for you to be taken by water taxi to an alternative restaurant, saying this, why would you, the setting is superb and the food delicious.

The Bristol has one of the best reputations for quality within Panama City and rightly so.  The hotel, despite marketing itself as a business hotel, has a feeling of decadence with its open spaces and Victorian furniture.

Nestled in the corner of the Anton Valley is the Los Mandarinos, a cosy boutique hotel nestled amongst fertile mountains with stunning views.  Its architecture is that of a French Chateaux with soft golden coloured local stonework
