AKWADUP LODGE
San Blas Archipelago
Akwadup Lodge: Our ViewThis lodge is run by the Kuna (as all lodges are in the archipelago) and is located on a private island of the same name. You don’t come to stay in the San Blas for the luxurious accommodation but for the experience of better understanding the Kuna Indian people. Akwadup Lodge: Fast Facts
Akwadup Lodge: The DetailThe 7 wooden bungalows are built over the water and painted bright green. They are spacious but very basic inside with palm thatched roofs. There are 2 double beds with good mosquito nets. Classic Kuna mola’s adorn the walls and the bed. The bathroom has a shower but there is no hot water. The sun deck has hammocks and you can watch the Kuna pass by on their dugout canoes fishing. The food served in their restaurant is fresh and of good quality. And the staff here are some of the most friendly and attentive. On the night we stayed, they performed a traditional dance after our dinner which was quite an experience. There are many islands nearby where you can go and visit the Kuna villages and learn about their way of life. Whilst it’s quite possible to snorkel off the beach here, the lodge can also take you out snorkelling for the day to other reefs and neighbouring uninhabited islands. You may also likeBocas del Toro
Eclypse del Mar has tried to copy what Punta Caracol has done – creating individual cabanas over the water and in our opinion it has dropped a little short. Do not let this first line put you off as it is still a beautiful place to stay and a great alternative
Soberania
The park is considered to be one of the most accessible areas for bird watching and wildlife observation in Central America and lying in the middle of it all above the canopy of the jungle is the Canopy Tower lodge
Panama City
Originally built in 1893, this is a beautifully restored Spanish colonial house in the most desirable location in the city - Casco Antiguo. It is a very intimate hotel with just three bedrooms and nothing is too much trouble for the wonderful staff here.
