Esencia: Our ViewSituated close to the magnificent ruins of Tulum, Esencia was originally a privately owned and incredibly stylish property of an Italian Duchess overlooking the Caribbean Sea. In 2006 it was converted into a boutique hotel of just 29 rooms. Esencia: Fast Facts
Esencia: The DetailSet in lush gardens, there is an abundance of natural wildlife all around, and the beach is great for swimming and snorkelling. Esencia welcomes families and is therefore a real draw for people who are attracted by the intimacy and relaxation that a small chic hotel offers yet embraces the lively nature of family life. The main house has two split level suites, both of which overlook the Caribbean with private terraces. The villa, with two bedrooms, is ideal for families. The majority of the rooms are garden suites. All rooms have their own private plunge pool, iPod docking station and widescreen TV. There is a beautiful organic spa, its treatment philosophy based on traditional local Mayan ways. And there is even a special spa menu for children! The steam rooms and Jacuzzi’s are open for all guests to use. Two restaurants set close to the pool provide a choice of local and international cuisine. You may also likeRiviera Maya
Some hotels are there as a convenience and some, like the Tides, are there to be experienced. This 30 room hotel and spa is situated on a white sandy beach that one expects of a Caribbean coastal hotel.
Chichen Itza
Located 100 km from the ruins of Chichen Itza and approximately 25 km from Merida, this privately owned, Starwood managed hacienda has been beautifully restored. This is one of three haciendas that the Starwood chain manages in the Yucatan peninsula.
Merida
This privately owned house is hidden away from the main centre of the city, and can be difficult to find! The house is not open to walk in customers and is one of those little gems which you only know if you have been to Merida.
