HIGH AND LOW IN CHILE

Day 1: Arrive Santiago
Upon arrival drive to Casa Real-Santa Rita in the heart of the Chilean wine country.

Day 2-3: Santa Rita
You begin the day by driving to the Maipo River Canyon and Concha y Toro Vineyard. Melchor Concha y Toro established this vineyard in 1883, and it is now Chile's largest wine producer, with more than ten large vineyards in the area. You also soak up the atmosphere of the Chilean Wine region at Casa Real of the Santa Rita Vineyard. The Casa Real is the old family mansion at Santa Rita, converted into a country inn, it?s surrounded by 70 acres of beautifully maintained century old gardens with swans, statues and native trees.

Day 4: Fly Santiago. Fly Calama
Today you transfer to northern Chile. On arrival at Calama you will be met and transferred to San Pedro de Atacama and the Explora Atacama hotel, your base for the next 4 nights.

Day 5-7: Around San Pedro
Over the next 3 days you will take in all the highlights that the region has to offer. Including; Valley of the Moon, horse riding, soaking in the hot springs, driving to the Salar de Tara with its strange geological formations protruding from the desert, drive to see the lakes of the altiplano teeming with pink flamingos and surrounded by active volcanoes, walk across the Salar de Atacama one of the largest salt flats in the world and visit the adobe Andean towns of Socaire and Toconao.

Day 8: Fly Punta Arenas
Today's flight takes you from the very north of Chile to the far south. Upon arrival at Punta Arenas you will be driven to your hacienda located on the road to Torres del Paine.

Day 9-11: Torres del Paine National Park
This morning you drive straight to the magnificent Torres del Paine National Park. The next 3 days are spent exploring the park including the iceberg rich Lago Grey, walks to the Frances Glacier and Lago Nordenskjold with the towering granite peaks or 'Torres' high above. You also cross the mineral rich Lago Pehoe by hydrofoil, a milk green lake created from water run off from nearby glaciers. 3 nights in the Explora Patagonia hotel.

Day 12: Drive to Los Glaciers National Park
An early morning drive takes you into Argentina and to the town of El Calafate. A short stop for lunch and you continue straight to your base for the next 3 nights, the hotel Los Notros. The hotel overlooks the Perito Moreno Glacier and is the only hotel situated inside the Los Glaciers National Park.

Day 13-14: Los Glaciers National Park
Cruise to the Perito Moreno Glacier the only glacier in the world to be moving forward and watch icebergs break off and float past. Walking onto the glacier is a memorable experience and highly recommended, streams of water run trapped under the ice leaving strange ice formations and stunning colours that bring the glacier to life. You can also the visit the 2 nearby glaciers of Upsala and Onelli.

Day 15: Drive Punta Arenas.
A long days drive brings you back to Punta Arenas, giving you the opportunity to explore the southern most town of its size in the world.

Day 16: Fly U.K

Price
The cost of the itinerary outlined above is approximately £4,580 per person based on 2 people sharing and is on a private basis. If not staying the Explora hotels, the cost will be approximately £3,200 per person. The cost includes all transfers, activities, accommodation, entrance fees and meals where mentioned.
