For many couples South America and its surrounding islands are an ideal honeymoon destination.
There are many elegant and small haciendas/lodges offering a private and personal feeling well away from other tourists.
Countries can be easily combined with other South American countries and/or its islands.
Whatever time of year you decide to get married there is always a season for you in South America.
It represents very good value for money and its wide range of differently priced haciendas/lodges means that there is something for everyone
We have organized many hundreds of honeymoons for couples from all over the world ranging from short to long, cheap to very expensive, and it is well worth looking at the references page which has a huge amount of "post honeymoon" feedback.
It really is worth taking the trouble to get the honeymoon right, which is why we recommend if possible coming into our offices in Fulham, London for a private presentation to talk through the possibilities. If this is not possible then we can talk through and advise on any itinerary in South America and quote on the phone. Our personal favourites for honeymoons are Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, Peru and the Galapagos combined, Los Roques and the Caribbean and Patagonia.
The itineraries page will give you an idea of the possibilities, but one combination that seems to come up time and time again is a beach - adventure - beach combination as follows:
3 nights at the start at Margarita Island (Venezuela) ideal to unwind from the wedding. 4 nights at the Ucaima Lodge in the Canaima National Park with its many different waterfalls and the famous Angel falls, followed by 5 nights on the Los Roques archipelago with 2 days spent on your own personal yacht for 'serious' relaxation time. This itinerary would cost between $3,800 and $4,900 depending on room type including internal flights and transfers.
Planning a budget - this is obviously a very rough guide - we can advise and quote on the phone.
£1,700 per person for a honeymoon in Peru with a trip to Machu Picchu.
£2,500 per person for a complete luxury Peruvian tour including Machu Picchu and the Amazon.
£2,200 per person visiting Venezuelan Islands and Angel Falls
£3,300 per person for a week in the Galapagos Islands on the luxury Isabella II and a week on the mainland staying in secluded haciendas.
£2,300 for a 2 week honeymoon within Brazil, incorporating Rio, the Pantanal, Iguazu falls and Parati.
£2,200 for 2 weeks within Argentina, including Buenos Aires, Iguazu, the glaciers of Patagonia and an Estancia.
Up to £6,000 per person for the very best - a 3 week trip to Argentina including Iguazu Falls, Patagonia, peninsular Valdes and a cruise through the Magellan straits, all in the best accommodation available.
These prices include accommodation on a b&b basis, transfers, all activities on a private basis, some internal flights, but exclude international flights, which would cost around £500 - £900 depending on your destination.
