UTOPIA VILLAGE
The Bay Islands
Utopia Village: Our ViewHaving only opened in late 2007, this is very much a hidden gem on Utila in more ways than one. The hotel is on the southern shores of the island about a 20 minute boat ride out of town and is located on its own private stretch of beach. There are no other hotels or lodges within a 15 minute boat ride which makes you feel like you are in a private home and that is exactly how the management and staff make you feel. Utopia Village: Fast Facts
Utopia Village: The DetailThe ‘village’ as they like to be called is all made of local wood and has been superbly well decorated, both inside and outside. The thatched beach bar sits on the beach facing the ocean, the sun loungers are far enough away from each other to give you privacy if required and the rooms – 16 in all – are all ocean facing. Inside the décor is elegant and understated, with fanned palm leaves, wooden table and chairs, soft furnishings, high ceilings and large pains of glass throughout to maximise light. The rooms are spacious with either a king size bed or two double beds, all have en-suite facilities, air conditioning, ceiling fans and an outside sitting area on the balconies. The lodge sits right on the reef, literally. If you get into the ocean you are swimming among corals within 20 seconds and not 10 metres from the shoreline is one of the best wall dives on the island. As with most lodges in the Bay Islands the Utopia Village caters towards divers though this is a superb option, whether you dive or not. You may also likePico Bonito

Antigua
As with the best places to stay in any town, Posada del Angel is located close to the central area, has only 7 rooms and is run by friendly and efficient staff. This is one of our favourite places in Antigua because it contains all you need and nothing you don’t
Copan
The Hacienda San Lucas’ style is rustic, simple yet truly elegant. The main house is over 100 years old and has been renovated with loving care over the last few years by the owners together with local artisans from Copan.
