POSADA SANTIAGO

Lake Atitlan

Posada Santiago: Our View

On the other side of the town of Santiago is posada Santiago.  The hotel is split between the road, with the rooms and restaurant on one side and the pool and gardens on the other, the latter of which overlooks the lake. From the hotel are some lovely walking trails to explore the lake.

Our Rating

  • Individual bungalows with open fireplaces
  • Good views across the lake from the hotel
  • Swimming pool at a lower level looking over Lake Atitlan
  • Excellent restaurant, which can attract groups at lunch

Posada Santiago: The Detail

The bungalows, which are made of local stone have a lot of character, mostly due to the fact that each of them has an open fire place in.  Due to the size, they do retain that lovely smell of an open fire which only adds to the character of the place.

The restaurant is probably the best on the lake and although it attracts groups during lunch, it is still well worth stopping at – please note that all of our full day tours to Santiago de Atitlan include lunch here.
