Tabacon Resort: The DetailThe hotel itself is elegant, serene and stylish. Importantly, they place great emphasis on a personal and friendly service. So much so that the Tabacon has a Guest services manager whose role is to ensure that all guests have a truly memorable stay by surprising them with little things such as flowers or chocolate strawberries in their room. There are 114 rooms and 5 different types. All the rooms are delightfully furnished with rich hard woods and ivory linens; and have a balcony, LCD TV and DVD. The water is purified and fed directly from the hot springs. A real ‘Pura Vida’ experience! The Superior premium rooms are a good size, with king beds or two queens, a view of the volcano and a larger bathroom. The honeymoon suite is divine with a resplendent mahogany four poster bed, a glass walled bathroom with a huge Jacuzzi, and a large tropical garden. The Grand Spa is nothing less than sumptuous. There is a seemingly endless series of pools, each fed by the hot springs, which make for a very private and romantic experience. Treatments are given in private open air bungalows and each has its own Jacuzzi. They have a unique treatment called the Temazcal which draws on Mexican tradition and uses the lava of Arenal to create a special sauna which relaxes you like no other. The Four Seasons hotel has created a name for itself globally as a quality hotel and their hotel on the Papagayo peninsula is no exception. Although larger than a lot of the hotels we offer – this hotel has 144 rooms- we would really only recommend the one and two bedroom suites
Osa Peninsula
Nestled within the hills above the coast, this rainforest lodge has superb views across the ocean and surrounding jungle. The beach is a 15 minute walk down a steep a hill, however the hotel arranges for transfers back up the hotel at the end of the day
Tortuguero
Built in 2006, this one of the newer properties that has emerged over the past decade. The lodge is part of the Pachira group which owns three hotels in the area and the Aninga lodge is actually attached to the Pachira lodge, so guests can use both lodges if they wish
