MAWAMBA LODGE
Tortuguero
Mawamba Lodge: Our ViewOne of the oldest lodges in Tortuguero national park, Mawamba has been open for over 25 years. Its mature tropical gardens are a pleasure to explore and include Frog and Butterfly farms. You have direct access to the beach here (unlike some of the other lodges) so the night walk to watch the Green Sea Turtles lay their eggs in nests begins just a few steps from your room. Mawamba Lodge: The DetailThere are 54 standard rooms which are simple and comfortable if rather short on space. Sitting side by side in a wooden block, they have en-suite bathrooms and fans. The additional 4 standard superior rooms are what we would recommend. They are individual cabins and are extremely spacious with king beds and a huge bathroom with a circular bath. The restaurant overlooks a garden area with a large pool with pretty turtle mosaics. Meals are of a good quality, served at set times and are buffet style. There is also a games area with pool table. Activities include walking trails, boat trips and night walks to see the turtles. You may also likeArenal
