Lapa Rios: Our ViewNestled within the hills above the coast, this rainforest lodge has superb views across the ocean and surrounding jungle. The beach is a 15 minute walk down a steep a hill, however the hotel arranges for transfers back up the hotel at the end of the day. Lapa Rios: The DetailThey offer 16 rooms, all of which are identical with the exception being that half of them have one king bed whilst the others have two queen beds. Each has a thatched roof and private balcony (wooden deck) overlooking the ocean below or surrounding rainforest and has lounge chairs and a hammock. The rooms have high ceilings with fans and the windows are mosquito netting allowing for the breeze to pass through the room at night. Inside the décor is beautiful. Set off by the wooden floors, the bamboo beds are lined with huge mosquito netting and the small indoor sitting are has a table and chairs, all made of the local bamboo. The en-suite bathroom has two sinks and a separate room with the shower, the showerhead is enormous and there is plenty of hot water. The lodge offers a range of activities, all of which can be arranged on arrival and include; early bird walks, extensive walking trails, medicinal trails, waterfalls trails and access to the beach below. The beauty of Kioro is its close proximity to the Arenal Volcano – just 3km from the base! The modern buildings were designed with this is mind and as such they have huge floor to ceiling windows offering sweeping views of the volcano
Turrialba
This is one of the most gloriously inaccessible lodges that we offer. Access to the lodge is only by an adventurous 4WD across the mountains followed by a zip wire in a cage across the river and a 300 metre walk
Monteverde
Fonda Vela began in 1990 with just 8 cabanas. The lodge was started by the family that still runs it today and as such it has a lovely warm and welcoming feel to it. The 40 rooms are spread through the mountain side
