Fonda Vela: Our ViewFonda Vela began in 1990 with just 8 cabanas. The lodge was started by the family that still runs it today and as such it has a lovely warm and welcoming feel to it. Fonda Vela: The DetailThe 18 junior suites and 22 standard rooms are all made of wood and have excellent natural light. The standard rooms have 2 queen beds or one king and a queen and are small cabins with views across the canopy. Bathrooms are small but with all amenities and there is a small balcony overlooking the mountains. The junior suites are large and spacious with 2 king size beds, cable TV, en-suite bathrooms which are large, small sitting area inside the room and some of the newer junior suites have outside balconies. The restaurant serves excellent Costa Rican cuisine and the pool and Jacuzzis are new in 2009 and have Perspex roof with glass walls, so the temperature inside is warm, but with lots of natural light coming in from outside. This was one of the first lodges in the park to have a zip wire system across its canopy. As such the location is lovely, nestled amongst tress with wisps of cloud passing through. The lodge itself is fairly basic and simple with 5 wooden cabanas
