EVERGREEN LODGE

Tortuguero

Evergreen Lodge: Our View

Despite its size, this is a charming property.  It is located away from most of the other lodges, so has a remote feel about it and the property is located within the jungle itself, yet parts of it remain open.  The lodge is connected by a series of pathways, making it easy to navigate around, yet some of the pathways lead into the jungle where some of the rooms of located making feel remote.

Evergreen Lodge: The Detail

The 54 rooms are split into two categories; bungalows and standard rooms.  Both types of rooms are the same inside; en-suite facilities, spacious, king or two queen beds and small balconies.  The benefit of staying in a bungalow is that they stand alone, some which are within the jungle itself, whereas the standard rooms are lined up next to each other so there is not as much privacy.

The two swimming pools are a distance apart, with the newer of the two being the main pool and one with a waterfall and more often than not it is frequented by all three different types of monkeys found within the park.

The buffet style restaurant that appears to be so popular within the park is operational here, though there is an outside sitting area where you can eat on your own.  They have some small walking trails around the property and there are also kayaks for use as well and the canal that runs around the back of the property is a magical place to do this.

Although the lodge caters mostly towards groups, there is a familiar feel to the place, where staff knows your name and nothing is too much trouble.
