Arenal Observatory Lodge: The DetailThere are just 42 rooms – which is a small hotel for Arenal - and the lodge aims to provide friendly service in a natural and beautiful setting. Having been established for over 30 years, they are passionate about preserving the beauty of the region and this comes through in the hotels approach to tourism. Tropical gardens have hundreds of different plant and flower species, some selected specifically because they attract particular butterflies and birds. The Smithsonian rooms are the best option – they are generously sized, with natural wooden interiors and a large balcony with views of the volcano. An unforgettable place to unwind in the evening. As you relax in the infinity pool and Jacuzzi area, Arenal towers above you and sometimes you can actually hear the rumble of the lava rocks rolling down the volcano.
