ANINGA LODGE

Tortuguero

Aninga Lodge: Our View

Built in 2006, this one of the newer properties that has emerged over the past decade.  The lodge is part of the Pachira group which owns three hotels in the area and the Aninga lodge is actually attached to the Pachira lodge, so guests can use both lodges if they wish.  The obvious drawback is that if staying at Anhinga (30 rooms), which is substantially smaller than Pachira (89 rooms), you can end up with large groups of people wandering through your lodge.

Aninga Lodge: The Detail

Aninga has 30 individual cabanas which are spacious and simple.  Rooms have either one king bed or two queen beds, en-suite facilities, a small balcony and a ceiling fan and hot and cold running water.  The cabanas are spread out over a relatively large area so you have the feeling of being in an individual room, though some do face each other.
All rooms and facilities are linked by a concrete platform (the platforms used to be wood, but are now all being changed to the more durable concrete) that runs through the jungle.

The restaurant serves buffet style food and has a pleasant bar area away from the rest of the rooms and the restaurant.  The bar area is next to the large pool, complete with small waterfall and the spa – the only one inside the national park and a new addition to the lodge – which covers most treatments, including the new water massage, where you are given your massage in a Jacuzzi or swimming pool!
