The Villa Antigua Hotel is a beautiful, restored mansion dating from 1860. It still maintains its original structure and the balconies with their romantic setting offer you panoramic vistas over the White City of Bolivia. Its elegant architecture reflects the colonial history of Sucre, one of the most ancient cities of South America.

Villa Antigua: The Detail


The communal areas of the hotel are extensive and include: a courtyard paved with original stones of the period and surrounded by pillars, a garden with different kinds of herbs, grass and a variety of plants, flowers and trees whilst the terrace has a lovely view of the old city of Sucre.
 
The hotel has 24 rooms and each has lovely natural light, are comfortable, modern and tastefully decorated. The antique structure has been integrated with minimalist architecture. You can have rooms with a private balcony or with access to outside terraces offering views over the old streets of the town and surrounding mountains. Other rooms are directly connected with the beautiful garden.
 
All the rooms are furnished with hand made wooden fittings, Cable TV, minibar, telephone, safe and adjustable lighting. Paintings of outstanding contemporary Bolivian artists further enhance the ambience. The beds come with large therapeutic mattresses and all bedding is made of 100 % natural textiles and materials. All rooms have fully equipped en-suite bathrooms including hairdryer, cotton towels and toiletries. Additionally, the suites have their own Jacuzzi.

Centrally located in the heart of La Paz, this European-style hotel is now probably the best hotel in town. All the rooms are large and in good condition

With very few decent hotel options in the city, this is the only one we would recommend. Rooms can be a little dark, but the service of the staff is great

The Luna Salada is one of the most interesting hotels in the whole of Bolivia, if not South America.  Built entirely of salt blocks, the hotel sits on a small hill overlooking the Uyuni salt flats.
