Chan Chich Lodge: The Detail

The 12 individual thatched roof cabanas are situated within the plaza of an ancient Mayan city and are surrounded by well kept gardens and resident birds.  The lodge has 6 superior cabanas and 6 deluxe cabanas with the difference being the size of the bathrooms, with the deluxe cabanas having his and her basins and shower heads.

Both have wrap around balconies with chairs and a pair of hammocks and each looks onto the surrounding jungle.  The food is excellent with a 3 course meal being served and both lunch and dinner and although the menu has plenty of options the only drawback is that menu stays the same each day.  The lodge also has a screened in pool and Jacuzzi.

The lodge has a range of activities, most of which can be arranged and paid for locally and include; nocturnal walks, night drives, drives to the escarpment for views across the jungle canopy, canoeing, medicinal trails, horse back riding, mountain bikes, tours to the nearby coffee farm and 4 daily walks through their 9 miles of paths that surround the lodge starting at 6am and finishing at 8pm.
