Chabil Mar Villas: The DetailThe villas are split into 3 categories; superior (7), deluxe (9) and luxury (2). The superior rooms are on the ground floor and have one bed, whilst the deluxe can accommodate anywhere from 2 to 4 people, however please enquire with us before booking, as the middle rooms have a small bedroom without windows, however they also have a loft where an additional bed is which is ideal for a family with small kids. The luxury rooms are on the top floor and are the same size as the deluxe but offer a superior view to the ocean. The hotel does not have a restaurant on site however they have a fully stocked store room where you can purchase your food, or alternatively head into town for groceries. They have a BBQ area at the back which you can use at any time and a small bar at the back of the property. The hotel has bikes and kayaks for complementary use and you can rent a golf buggy as well. With 6 individual cabanas overlooking the river that encompasses the lodge, this mid-range option is an excellent alternative to the Machaca lodge if you are craving your rustic setting.
Lamanai
This jungle lodge located next to the remote Mayan ruins of Lamanai is a superb option for not only visiting the ruins but also for experiencing the wildlife that surrounds this remote outpost.
The Cayo District
Unquestionably the best lodge option in the region. Situated a 30 minute drive outside of the town, the lodge has access to all the main attractions in the area, yet is pleasingly far enough away from it all to feel like you are in the middle of the jungle.
