Los Potreros: The DetailEstancia Los Potreros is a 6,000-acre working cattle farm and has remained in the same Anglo-Argentine family for four generations. The Estancia is very secluded on the top of the “Sierras Chicas” at an altitude of 3,000 feet, nestled between the pampas and the Andes in the heart of the beautiful region of Cordoba. The main house is steeped in family history with many references to the days of the Jesuits who first organized farming in the area before they were forced to leave quite suddenly in 1769. There is between 4-6 hours of riding daily on the estancia, consisting of either a morning and afternoon ride, or a full day with a picnic ride. Sunday afternoon is a period of rest, and therefore there is riding on Sunday morning only. The horses, all bred on the estancia, have exceptionally soft mouths, are well mannered and in excellent condition. They are responsive and sure-footed, and most are either Criollos or Paso Peruanos with some crossbreed. The tack is English with sheepskins over the saddles and each horse is chosen to suit the ability of the rider. The riding is “Western” and very relaxed. There is a vast area to explore across the Sierras and they tend to arrange the itinerary according to the your wishes. Beginners are welcomed. There is plenty to do for those not interested in riding or simply wanting a break from riding; walking in the hills and exploring the streams, watching the exotic bird life or just lying by the pool. The food (served around a communal table) is varied and delicious with plenty of excursions into local dishes, some of the food is produced on the property. All meals are included with drinks and good Argentine wines. Children arewelcome but trail riders have to be over 12 years old. This is an ideal spot for a family holiday, egg collecting, milking cows, building dams in the streams and wild flower pressing are popular activities. You may also likePeninsula Valdes
The rooms are clean and comfortable but the best thing is the fantastic views, whale sightings are very common due to the geography of the coast and the most spectacular sun sets across this bay.
Torres del Paine
The Hosteria Las Torres Set in the east of the Torres de Paine National Park and with views onto the towers of the Paine itself, this is a great option. It is still a rustic hotel which offers a perfect location

A basic principle of food and wine pairing is to match wines with regional dishes, as the local flavours tend to have a natural affinity. This is never truer than when enjoying Argentine Malbec
