THE FAENA HOTEL

Buenos Aires

The Faena Hotel: Our View

When we first visited the Faena hotel we knew we were experiencing something completely different.  Firstly there is no reception, each guest is assigned a ‘manager’ that looks after them for their stay and on seeing the rooms, we were given a detailed explanation on how each of the electronic curtains worked! This is a hotel with a difference and its designer, Philippe Starck has definitely left his mark.

With a huge array of rooms and suites (108 in total) each of which have high ceilings with modern décor and have been decorated with red velvet curtains, dark wood, and light sandstone all of which mix brilliantly. Their glass and marble bathrooms with a separate shower, a home theatre with surround sound, and Internet connection are just a few of the luxuries that come standard. The Faena Suite is the most impressive room in the hotel and includes cherry wood furnishings, three plasma TV’s as well as an enormous bathroom with a Jacuzzi and rain shower
The pool area has become famous within the city for being the place to be seen, whilst the bar area which has been decorated in a classic colonial style is a lovely place to have a long drink before or after dining.
The comprehensive fitness centre features all of the machines you would expect in a high end gym and comes with televisions as well as holistic routines such as yoga and tai chi and all of this comes with your own personal trainer.
The spa incorporates modern techniques with centuries-old therapies and you can choose from a menu of massages, facials, baths or even a Turkish hamam.
