Buenos Aires - the Paris of South AmericaBuenos Aires is a fascinating cosmopolitan city, the largest in South America with over 3 million inhabitants. It has a European feel and a personality of its own. The centre contains wide boulevards, quaint parks and interesting 20th century architecture. Its districts range from the bohemian La Boca, an artistic district with late colonial buildings to the more fashionable Recoleta district with botanical and Japanese gardens and smart cafes. The tango atmosphere can still be felt throughout the city, its courtyards are alive with performers, both young and old, dancing in a world of their own. Tigre Delta and ColoniaA short trip away is the Tigre river Delta, a maze of waterways and a place to escape the city, or, the UNESCO city of Colonia, a 1-hour boat ride away. The PampasBuenos Aires is also the gateway to the pampas, a vast expanse of rolling green pasture land for the famous Argentinian beef. You can enjoy a peaceful stay in a traditional Estancia (cattle ranch) and small towns welcome visitors with their charm and their well-kept 'gaucho' traditions.
